Executive Elections

Positions on the Executive of IPMS London are elected by the membership for a two-year term that begins in January. Elections are held in October of the previous year so there are a few weeks of overlap to facilitate knowledge transfer from the outgoing executive to the new executive.

A member may declare their own candidacy for a position or be nominated as a candidate by another member of the club. The candidate must consent to the nomination.

If there is only one candidate for a position they will be declared the winner by acclamation.

If there is more than one candidate for a position, the winner can be determined by a show of hands. However, any member of the club can call for a secret ballot.

Ballots shall be prepared and cast in secret. Three members of the club shall serve as scrutineers. The vote shall be counted and a winner declared. A motion to destroy ballots shall be called by the scrutineers and if passed by a majority of club members present, the ballots shall then be destroyed.
