Meeting started at 7:00.
Welcome – next meeting will be in the big room, then we move to the Needham Funeral Home in September. Our room rents at Fanshawe went up too much.
New attendees – John from Exeter. Mostly builds Warhammer 40k. Aaron, moved to London in September . Also Warhammer.
Next show is Torcan in September. Aircadcon and CAPCON in Ottawa in October. Modellers Without Borders has set up an online show/competition. Submit 5 photos of your kit for judging.
Lots of discussions about judging online these days.
Very few Canadians travelling to the US Nationals this year.
Show Discussion: do we want to have a show again next May at Fanshawe? The Executive recommends we hold a show next May, but we need more club member support to do it.
Kerry: do we really want a show every year, as it can take over the club?
Frank: we are not a “show” club, and we won’t let that happen. If we have people who will take on the show, apart from the executive, then it should be separable.
2025 show – 330 entries, less than the over 400 we had last time. $150 “profit”. We will need to increase prices for tables, entry next year. Float was $6500 to start, $6650 at the end. We will need more sponsorships next time. Most vendors were happy – some didn’t sell as much as they had hoped. Web page needed to be updated more frequently.
Cooper Hobbies suggested that the date was wrong – not summer. Hence the move to May.
Pablo – suggest we make written guidance on the various roles so new people can step into the roles.
Tim – talking about the show isn’t fun, and he’s not an organizing kind of person. The fun in the hobby isn’t in organizing a show, but in making models, talking about techniques, social stuff, etc.

Peter Fay: Neo Tokyo is moving to a new place in September. They may have an airbrush demo room.
It will also have restock on GSI paints. Levelling Thinner is also coming.
Cam Murdoch: Byron build night on first Thursday of every month. Game Chamber has tried to move but haven’t had any luck yet. Their rent increased significantly.

Adam – ancient brass era auto buggy. Used thick paint over brushed to get wood grain.

John – Chaos Knight loosely based on Judge Dredd skulls and extras are 3D printed. Base done with Modern Masters oxidation paints
Kerry – Arma 1/48 Hurricane in RCAF markings
Peter – space battleship Yamato 1/1000 shelf of shame completion.
Also Alien Space Jockey shelf of shame completion. Colours are based on on-set pictures before the blue tinted film effect was added.
Frank – 1/72 Japanese tanks in field of wheat, and 1/35 Bronco bridgelayer.
