Jamie is now yet another member of our ex-President's club, having led our motley crew for three glorious
years. His tastes run primarily towards 1/35 modern armour and 1/16 military figures, although you never know what might
show up (or blow up!). More of Jamie's models can be seen on the TORCAN 19/2002 page.

This is AFV Club's M48A1 Chapparal air defence missile system (kit #AF3502), done
in US Army Operation Desert Storm markings. This kit was built as per kit instructions; many detail upgrades were added
to complete the kit. It was part of our 2004 One Year Build contest. First addition was Eduard's PE #35-129, then 8 MV Products lenses were used on the headlights and for the seeker heads
on the MIM-72F heat-seeking missiles, and Microscale decals were also used for added detail. The kit resin figure was
finished in Vallejo Acrylic paints.
The model was finished with Tamiya acrylics and weathered using an oil was with MIG Products pigments. The front
winch unit was rebuilt and the kit turret can be moved from the fire position to transport status.

Jamie built this DML 1/35 scale SdKfz 250/9 neu for the club's 2002 one month build. Not content with the
(quite nice) contents of the box, Jamie added photoetched pieces from both Aber (35A33) and PART (P35-028), a 2cm aluminum
barrel from Jordio Rubio, and an MV lens in the gunsight. Jamie painted the vehicle in the striking ambush scheme, using
Tamiya and Vallejo paints. The vehicle represents a half-track assigned to the 2nd Panzer Division in September 1944.

This is one of DML's 1/16 scale figures, an Oberfeldwebel from the fighting around Smolensk on September 25, 1943.
This kit was done making some modifications to the base figure. A new Kirin head replaced teh kit head, from set
#21523. Aber photoetch was used for hte helmet liner strap and decals. The base is a Kirin product for a different
figure. The G42 semi-automatic rifle was from the Dragon equipment set. The base and figure were painted with
Vallejo acrylic, oil washes were done, and finally weathered with pastel chlaks.

One of the latest additions to Jamie's rather formidable Bundeswehr collection is this 1/35 scale Revell Germany Fuchs
1A4, complete with Milan ATGM launcher on the roof.

This Italeri SdKfz 234/2 Puma was Jamie's contribution to the club's one month build last year. Not content with
the kit, Jamie added a complete interior. His work was rewarded at WELL*CO*ME VI in Guelph, where the Puma won its class.

Dragon's 1/16 scale Fallschirmjager, from the Gran Sasso rescue mission of Mussolini in September 1943. Jamie had
intended this as an out of the box project, but then a Kirin resin head, some ABER photoetched for the helmet, and photoetched
buckles and brass strip for the FG42's straps got involved. The figure itself was painted with Vallejo paints and pastel
weathering, while the base was made from epoxy putty and floor dry chips. Jamie used "German Soldiers of World War II"
by Jean de Lagarde (1995) as his primary reference.

This is Italeri's LAV-25 Piranha kit, done in Canadian markings, circa 1988. Jamie built this kit "out of the box,"
as per IPMS rules.

Here is Jamie's British Army of the Rhine collection, representing vehicles serving with the British Army in Germany
in 1988. At the bottom left is the Revell Germany Land Rover 110 ambulance.
Behind it is the Revell Germany boxing of the AFV Club Scorpion; the kit was modified with a rear box tarp and rope
tie downs added, MV Lens L136 replacing the headlights, photo negative used for the periscopes, Bare Metal foil for the rear
view mirrors, rebuilt fenders, and other work. The kit was finished with Tamiya paints, an artist's oil wash and Gunze
Sangyo flat coat.
In front of that is the AFV Club Scimitar; this kit was modified as above, except that L185 lenses were used.
Both of these kits included turned aluminum barrels and photoetched.
Finally, we have Tamiya's 1/35 scale Challenger Mark I. As well as adding On The Mark rifling to the barrel
and MV lenses for the headlights, Jamie used Eduard's photoetched set (35-080) and Elefant tow cables and ends. He also
modified or replaced many of the kit parts, including adding over 70 brass grab handles..

Another of Jamie's collections, his 1/35 scale Bundeswehr armour set, all courtesy of Revell Germany. Clockwise
from lower left we have the Marder 1A3 APC, the M110A2 203mm self-propelled gun, the Luchs reconnaissance vehicle, the M109GA3
155mm self-propelled gun, and finally the TPZ 1 Fuchs APC.

Jamie says that this Revell 1/72 scale Panzerhaubitze 2000 was a really fun build, with great fit and detail. Aside
from adding MV lenses and having to clean out the fins of the muzzle brake, this kit was pretty much done out of the box.
Tamiya and Vallejo paints were used to finish the model.

Revell's excellent 1/72 scale T-80 is the latest model to get the Jamie Grant treatment. It's looking very sharp
in its Russian MERDC-style camouflage.
