Graham has been a member of our club for less than a year, since 2001, but has been quite prolific and enthusiastic.  I am going to let Graham introduce himself and his models, since I think his comments give some insight into the benefits of belonging to a club.

I have only been with the club since Oct. last year and have enjoyed the meetings greatly.  I enjoy building mostly military ( tanks, planes, and ships) but will try the odd car or truck.  I have been building since I was around 8, which means that I have been building for approximately 29 years.  Since coming to the club I have been encouraged and complimented on what I have built.  The guys at the club are the greatest modelers that I have ever known.

This is Dragon's SdKfz 164 Hornisse (Nashorn early version), built straight from the box.  A MIG Productions dry transfer was used on the left front mudguard, while the crosses and numbers were painted with stencils.  MIG Pigments Europe Dust, Mud and Rust were added to enhance the model.

Bandai's old 1/48 scale Jagdpanther has been more recently reissued by Fuman.  The kit was built straight from the box; the figures were painted with Vallejo acrylics.

Tamiya's fine Krupp Protze kit was recently released in the prime mover version with a 37mm antitank gun and new figures.  This kit was built out of the box and painted with Tamiya paints.  The figures were painted with Vallejo acrylics while the vehicle was weathered with MIG pigments.

Tamiya's classic Tiger I Late Model (kit #35146) is seen here.  There's nothing out of the box about this one!  ABER's 88mm gun barrel (35-L28), photoetched set (35-015), and photoetched fenders and exhausts (35-A12) were adde, along with Royal Models' Tiger I mudguards.  Figures from Tamiya's German Tank Crew at Rest set were added and painted with Vallejo acrylics.

This model was built straight from the box.  Photo-Etched grilles were included with the kit.  The really fun part of this kit was that the road wheels were first painted dark yellow, and when dry,  were painted with a Sharpie Dual-Ended pen.  After that they were covered in dullcote by Testors.

This kit was purchased from Ed Kubiak.  Ed did me a great service when I purchased this kit because he open up a big love for German Amour.

The model is that of the Bell H-13H, built from the Revell 1/35 scale kit.  With a height of 8'6" and rotor span of 37'2", this helicopter was not a fast mover.  They were used to provide transportation to wounded patients after the battle.  The motor was either a Franklin 6VA C32 that produced 176 horsepower or a more powerful Lycoming VO-345 that produced 250 hp.  The range was only about 250 miles at a speed of only 100 miles per hour.  The wounded soldiers referred to them as the angels of the battlefield.

This model is of the JagdPanzer V (sd.kfz173) Jadgpanther.
This model is the Academy 1:25 scale kit.  It was fun to build and it allowed me to try different things that I have never done before.  This tank destroyer was in my opinion the best of the war even if it only
saw limited action.  On the front was mounted an 88mm main gun with an a single MG42 on the front .  The main gun was protected by a 100mm type mantlet called a "saukopf" ( pig's head ).  Only 392 were built and most saw action with the SS-Panzer Divisions.

Currently, this kit is in the stage of revamping.  The new name of this tank will be "Classy Peg".  This kit was built straight from the box.  The track is in the process of being repainted and then the kit will be placed on a diorama base.  Thanks to Jamie Grant for his great suggestions at the August 2003 meeting.
