March Meeting & April Notice

Thanks to everyone that made it to the March meeting. We had another fantastic turnout and filled the hall to capacity. Looking forward to the new meeting hall next month.

The display table was covered with fantastic models brought in by our membership. Pictures of some of models are already available on the Facebook site in an album and I will be adding a post in the webpage forum today that will make them available for non-Facebook members.

The Theme for the meeting was JUDGING PANEL and several members brought their models in to be scrutinized by our panel of judges. A huge thanks to the members that volunteered to share there expertise and knowledge by acting as judges for the panel. Also thanks to all the members that brought in their models for review. Everything was kept very positive and informative, not only for the members who entered models but for everyone in attendance. A great deal of positive criticism was shared by the judges and I believe everyone took many ideas back to their workbenches in order to bring their works up to a more competitive level.

The April Meeting will be at 7pm, TUESDAY April 11TH at Earl Nichols Recreation Centre Meeting Hall. The venue is located at 799 Homeview Road in London. I will attach a Google Map link to the centre at the bottom of the post. I understand that many changes of dates and locations may be causing some confusion with the membership but this should come to an end in the next two months as we settle into our new location.

THEME: ANNUAL SWAP MEET, so be sure to thin your overstocked kit stash and bookshelves and bring all the goodies to sell. REMEMBER TO BRING LOTS OF CASH!!!!!

Hope to see you there!

Meeting Reminder

Reminding everyone that the March Meeting is being held tonight AT THE BYRON BRANCH LIBRARY IN THE LOWER FLOOR AUDITORIUM at 7PM

February Minutes and March Notice

Hello everyone:

Sorry for the delay in getting the minutes out. The executive has been very busy getting into their roles and discussing what is required to maintain the high level that has been standard in this club.

There will be many changes coming in the next short while so we ask that everyone keep a close eye on the club website News Reel as well as our Facebook page.

The February meeting was held in our temporary meeting hall at he Byron Branch Library. We had a great turnout and it was obvious that this venue would never work as a permanent location as we were jammed.

The display table was covered with fantastic models brought in by our membership. Pictures of some of models are already available on the Facebook site in an album and I will be adding a post in the webpage forum today that will make them available for non-Facebook members.

The membership was advised of the upcoming venue change that will find our meetings being held in the large hall at the Earl Nichols Recreation Centre. We reviewed the criteria that was used to pick the new venue (size, cost, parking, etc.)

We had a visitor whose father was a Spitfire pilot in WWII. He brought several items of his father’s including his aviator jacket and pictures of him wearing it in front of his plane. This was a hit with the members and it generated much discussion.

The March Meeting will again be held AT THE BYRON BRANCH LIBRARY IN THE LOWER FLOOR AUDITORIUM at 7PM on WEDNESDAY, March 15th. Parking is available at the rear off of Boler Road (this is the ONLY way to get into the parking lot). There is also limited parking on Commissioners Road at the front of the library and at the Metro lot on the corner of Boler and Commissioners Roads.

Theme: JUDGING PANEL – We will have a judging panel available so that members may bring their submissions for the upcoming contest season and have our expert judges provide hints and tips.

See you there!
